About us

The Leeds Tennis League has been in existence since 1964, when it was set up by 6 local clubs to give them the opportunity to play competitive mixed doubles.

It has since expanded, and the league now comprises nearly 90 teams, playing mixed, medley, mens, ladies and junior tennis. Teams are entered by participating tennis clubs from within Leeds and surrounding districts. A full list of participating clubs can be found by following the link on the right.

In addition, there is an indoor winter medley league, which plays at Leeds Metropolitan University’s Carnegie Tennis Centre.

The league is run by a team of volunteers, supported by Leeds City Council, with financial support from the Lawn Tennis Association. An agreed constitution provides a framework for running the league and Autumn and Spring AGM’s are organised each year to manage it.
